An oil and gas equipment plant will be built in Zhanaozen with the support of KazMunayGas
In Zhanaozen there will be a plant for the production of goods necessary for oil and gas production. This became possible due to the program of “KazMunayGas” to attract investors for the creation of oil and gas equipment production facilities in Zhanaozen.
The new plant in Zhanaozen will produce 51 thousand tons of pipe products, 540 thousand units of pump rods and 100 units of oil heaters per year. It is planned that the plant will be put into operation next year.
According to the program, KazMunayGas is selecting suppliers (potential investors) that guarantee the creation of production of equipment and goods in Zhanaozen required by KMG and its subsidiaries. For this purpose, the company has approved the relevant list of goods and amended the procurement procedure. The first investor to build such an enterprise was Kaskor-Mashzavod LLP. The initiator of the program is JSC Ozenmunaigas.
On April 24 in Zhanaozen a ceremony of laying the foundation of the future plant was held with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas Magzum Mirzagaliyev and Akim of Mangistau region Nurlan Nogaev.
The planned amount of investment in the construction of the new plant exceeds 17 billion tenge. It is planned to create more than 250 new jobs for Zhanaozen residents. They will be employed in stages, over 3 years as they undergo training. Thus, the opening of production will contribute to import substitution, prosperity of the regional economy, increase of tax revenues to the local and republican budgets.

“In accordance with the instruction of the Head of State, our region is systematically working to create new jobs and attract investment. In September last year, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the regional Akimat and KazPetroDrilling to implement a project to build a plant in Zhanaozen. This project will not only create new jobs, but also increase revenues to the local budget, contributing to the diversification of the economy of our region. It is necessary to continue measures to develop the manufacturing industry and domestic production, with a focus on improving production efficiency,” N. Nogayev said.
